| RUTLAND |
Rutland is the UK’s smallest county, and is often wrongly depicted as part of Leicestershire, which it is not! The area is well known for Rutland Water, but it also offers some stunning scenery across the Vale of Catmose and the Welland Valley. The principle towns of Rutland are Oakham and Uppingham. The area offers some of the most picturesque villages in the country including Braunston in Rutland, Exton, Wing and Manton.
From a riding perspective the area offers a lot of scope and interest whether it’s riding around parts of Rutland Water or utilising the many bridleways in the area.
The area is easy to get to owing to its proximity to the A1, A47 and A6003.
We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer map: 234 to use in conjunction with our routes.
